Meet the founder and teacher!

Welcome to Paris Palette! Paris Palette is founded by Michele Debuisne, a passionate art educator who has spent the last thirty years teaching children art in an International school setting in Paris.

Michele started Paris Palette as a way to keep children engaged and excited about making art, offering meaningful content that will not only enhance their drawing and painting skills but leave them with lasting memories of creativity and fun, with a bit of French art history.

Michele believes that children understand and remember art history when it’s told through stories and makes connections to Paris. This simple premise lies at the heart of Paris Palette inspiring young artists to explore their artistic potential and develop skills (and confidence), one art project at a time.

Michele encourages children from anywhere in the world to join her online art club. Whether they dream of traveling to Paris in person or visiting from the comfort of their home, everyone is welcome!

Michele currently teaches all the art classes. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Mary Washington University and an MA in Art Education from the Art of Education University.

Favorite Art Supplies for Online Art

Have you felt lost walking into a ‘beaux arts’ store and been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of markers, watercolor sets, and colored pencils? I hear you. I’ve done the shopping and chosen the best supplies for your child in terms of both value and quality. Yes, quality really makes a difference. All art lessons at Paris Palette use at least two materials like crayon or oil pastel and watercolor paints or markers and oil pastels. It makes a difference to have smooth, creamy oil pastels and paints that deliver the color intended. No frustration, only satisfaction.

Testimonials

"I LOVE IT!" - Emmett (Grade 2)

February 2024

"I can tell that he is thoroughly engaged during the session, the duration is perfect. I love the fact that your subjects will be on art pieces in Paris as it would encourage our family to explore and discover places of interest in Paris." - Vanessa, Emmet’s Mom

February 2024

"You give them very clear step by step instructions in the pace that was just right. Not too fast that is hard for them to keep up, and not too slow that they have to wait. I would highly recommend your classes to my friends who might be interested." - Ira, Jessica’s Mom

February 2024

"Dear Mdm. Debuisne I loved your art class it was very fun and easy even though it was online. You made it easy to follow the instructions and also showed us how to do it which I have never had a teacher do in online classes. Even though it was online and you couldn’t help us to do it like to get us started you made it easy to do it ourselves. I would love to be a part of your art class." - Jessica (Grade 4)
